Bio
Yuna Robertson is a Korean-American artist located in the greater St.Louis area. She was adopted and raised in the Midwest suburbs, cultivating an intense fascination of the arts since her latter years in high school.
Spending a large amount of time between her hometown and Chicago pursuing different areas of study, she was eventually introduced and captivated by tradional oil painting during her time at the University of Illinois – Chicago.
Since then, Yuna has strived to improve her abilities with the medium in order to combine her intense passion for the art with her interests in pop culture such as anime, manga, and video games.
Yuna is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Fine Art within her hometown college of Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville. Post-graduation, she aims to attend graduate school while continuing to develop her freelance work, much of which involving fan art of her favorite characters.
Bridging the gap between the intricacies of high art and the modern day passion of many fictional worlds, Yuna’s art aims to help in the development of a new type of oil painter that is unapologetic in its Eastern influences. Connecting these dichotomies of High Art vs Fan Art as well as West vs East is a common theme in almost all her work.
